AVID juniors and seniors hosted 65 middle schoolers on Mon., Nov. 20th.

The students were from Connolly and Laird middle schools.  The McClintock students’ purpose was to encourage them to join the AVID program.

AVID means Advancement Via Individual Determination and most students involved are first generation college bound students.

“The kids worked very hard preparing for the day,” AVID Coordinator Karen Crane said.  “They prepared welcome signs, a video, and detailed presentations.”

The day also includes games and a pizza party.  The Culinary Department baked and donated cookies for each middle schooler.
