Jacob Burrola, a McClintock alumni, is currently a freshman at Arizona State University, studying film. But what exactly does that mean? And what future jobs does a degree in film unlock?

The Sidney Poitier New American Film School, the film school at Arizona State University, is a new school created in 2020. The program currently has 4 degree programs, 2 bachelor programs, 1 minor program, and 1 masters program. These programs, and the school, revolve around effective ways to tell underrepresented stories. The curriculum also focuses on seeing media in a scientific, formulaic way and analyzing the use of certain techniques.

If you are at all interested in a career in Hollywood as a producer, director, or technical specialist, then a film degree could be for you. An added bonus is that a degree in film unlocks a world of connections and possibilities, which can lead to a variety of careers in Hollywood when you graduate.
