Charger Football honors students with “Players of the Week”

Four McClintock High School football players were named “Player of the Week” for excellent game play in the win over neighborhood rival Tempe High School.
McClintock’s football team announces four players of the week after every day. The students are chosen from Office, Defense, Special Team and Scout Team.
The Week 3 players are:
Offense: Xavier Benitez
Defense: Ben Roberts
Special Teams: Scott Jones
Scout Team: Logan Hazlet

Quarterback Xavier Benitez was also recognized by azcentral Sports as a top performer for his performance in the same game. Benitez, a senior, stood out in Week 3 of the Arizona high school football season after he passed for 315 yards and two touchdowns, completing 27 of 34 passes.
