McClintock High School students are going to be taking the ACT on the 8th of April 2025 as the
mandatory test that demonstrates a student’s readiness for college level coursework rapidly
approaches.
“Hey Juniors the ACT is fast approaching and here are some tips for you to be prepared”
Aaryan Kumar, who is currently a McClintock senior, explained in the video announcements.
Two of the major sections on the ACT are Math and English, and Aaryan recommended that
students spend extra time reviewing these areas. For math, it’s crucial to review algebra,
geometry, and trigonometry concepts. Aaryan advised practicing equations, word problems, and
formulas. For English, students should focus on grammar rules, sentence structure, and
understanding the context of passages.
The American College Testing tests students on skills in math, science, english, reading and
writing. The ACT is a widely used standardized test that American colleges and universities use
in the college admissions process to measure a student’s skills and academic knowledge,
allowing them to compare applicants from different backgrounds and offer financial awards
based on your score.
The ACT plays a pivotal role in college admissions. In addition to serving as a standardized
measure of academic readiness, a strong ACT score can also make a student eligible for
scholarships. By achieving a high score, students open up more opportunities for financial aid,
reducing the burden of tuition costs.
