When you think of glamorous sports on campus, tennis may not come to mind. However, this season, your boys tennis team has kept up impressive form and recaptured magic from the past few seasons.

In the COVID-affected 20-21, the boys tennis team had a surprise run to the state playoffs, one of the first appearances for the team in quite a few years. The following two seasons, the team has not only found their way back to the playoffs, but also captured back to back section championships.

The team is led by a barrage of seniors who have grown through the program, including Akshay Venkatachalam, Maddox Lato, Sullivan Schwab, Walid Mohammed, and Siraj Soliman.

This week, these seniors and the rest of the team prepare for a final playoff push to capture an elusive state title in the team competition. Doubles pairing Akshay and Maddox also secured the 8 seed in the state doubles tournament, taking place this weekend, and hope to push towards a top placement.
