McClintock student honored during 2019 Tempe Mayor’s Disability Awards

A student from McClintock High School was honored during the 2019 Tempe Mayor’s Disability Awards.

Sophomore Sophie Stern was recognized as an Outstanding Student, an honor that comes with a scholarship provided by  local nonprofit Tempe Diablos. The award recognizes outstanding Tempe students with disabilities who demonstrate dedication and success as a student, employee or volunteer.

The city’s celebration, now in it’s 31st year, honors achievements of exceptional individuals with disabilities, employers who have demonstrated a strong commitment to employing people with disabilities, and others who have shown dedication for improving the quality of life for all Tempe residents.

Awards range in a variety of categories, including community support & volunteering, business & employment and education. Several students from Tempe High were also honored.
