Seven McClintock students were among 34 academically talented high school seniors in the Tempe Union High School District that will be competing for the annual National Merit Scholarship awards offered next spring.

This award is based on the PSAT exam students take during their junior year.

“We are proud to see Tempe Union students continue to lead the pack. We salute our students for the hard work and dedication to their education and will continue to do everything we can to support and prepare then for life after high school,” TUHSD Superintendent Dr. Kenneth said.

To apply for the scholarship, seniors must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, demonstrate leadership abilities, participate in school and community activities, be recommended by the school principle, and write an essay.
