The last pep rally of the year is Thurs., April 2 and student council has been working to make this the best pep rally of the year.
“I’m excited because it is our last bang as a student council and we are trying to go all out and do the ideas that would maybe take more time and effort,” Student Body President Amie Troutt said.
At the pep rally, dance, cheer, and drum line will be performing. Also, the Impulse Dance Company will perform a song called Da Vinci Code.
The administration will also have a surprise performance called “Make Me A Prom Queen.”
“I am most looking forward to is to be doing all of the things that we think are kind of risky,” Troutt said.
In addition to the prom nominees being announced, Assistant Principal Molly Saddler will be recognizing students for Tempe Top Teen and other leadership awards.
Also, Athletic Director Susan Edwards will announce state and regional announcements for the winter sports.
A lot of planning always goes into each pep rally.
“Amie and I sit down at a coffee shop and we plan the whole thing,” Pep Rally Director Otis Clyne said. “Then, we send the ideas and get them cleared by teachers and then we begin rehearsing.”
During every pep rally, they try to get different groups of people to participate.
“Inviting people and having a smile on your face is the best thing you can do,” Sophomore Class President Zaria Guignard said. “We want people to feel welcome and want to come.”
