The Coronation dance will take place on Sat., Feb. 21 from 8pm to 11pm in the main gym.
Tickets are $15 per person and $25 for couples, or $20 at the door. Students must have ID’s to get into the dance, and students from other schools must have guest passes. Students may also purchase photos at the dance.
Student council has been planning Coronation since around the time of Homecoming.
“All the officers together have been working outside of school on decorations, choosing a theme, getting a DJ, and planning,” sophomore Girls Representative Madi Reddie said.
Other than the new theme, Coronation will consist of the same activities and features as usual; dancing, a place to sit, and photography.
“Duke Photography comes and actually sets up a room where you can get professional photos done with you and your friends; it’s pretty cool,” sophomore student council president Zaria Guignard said.
The members of student council had a particular intent in mind when choosing the dance’s theme, “Casino Royale.”
“It kind of goes with our homecoming theme; it’s almost like a city travel thing, and I know the prom theme hasn’t been stated yet so I won’t give that away, but it kind of all flows,” Guignard said.
