The upcoming pep rally will be a 60 min pep rally on Oct. 17 from 8-9 am in the main gym. The pep rally will have the theme: future.
“Our next pep rally is going to be themes like where will McClintock be in the next 50 years so its going to be a whit out and we are going to bring out black lights and the neon lights and kind hopefully bring like a space feeling to it” said Troutt.
The pep rally will be sure to honor football by having the players sitting on the court, and a senior slide show. However, the football team won’t be the only sport getting highlighted, girls volleyball and badminton will also have a spotlight.
“Cheer is making unique signs for all senior athletes” Kriket Tomasi stated.
The pep rally will also have performances by dance and coed cheer and parents dance. Of course they will introduce the homecoming nominees that are: Boys: Otis Clyne, Ivan De La Cruz, Jacob Garica-Stewart, Fargo Tbakhi, Nathan Sanford, Noah Stone. Girl nominees: Shannon Bell, Audra Emmerson, Hayley Gorman, Hadley Griffin, Tara Logan, Amie Troutt.
Student body president Amie Troutt shared some of her favorite things about school pep-rally, “I think its just the fact that I love seeing people get involved together because pep rallys is where the school can come together and its fun watching kids who probably wouldn’t sit together end up sitting together and its like everyone is there for the same purpose and so its just like a good community feeling.”
Troutt is involved in may school events she has practice with getting the crowd excited about school spirit.
“I love it I’ve been in student councils since I was a freshman so for the past four years I’ve watched them like older students and I’ve just been waiting for my time to be able to run stuff Its defiantly a lot of work its a lot of work to plan them but it pays of because its like the time of my life” said Troutt.
With all the school spirit Amie has learned a couple things from the last pep rallies.
“I learned that the student’s really like it when the teachers end up doing stuff that embarrass themselves, student like watching teacher do it,” Troutt said. “I think one of the hardest things for student council is to find students who aren’t always involved and to get them into different activities at the pep rally because you want it to be a whole school stuff not just a group of kids. Its one of our problems we are trying to find people that aren’t overly involved but still want to participate”
Overall the next pep rally will be filled with many memorable events with performances and lots of school spirit.
