The induction ceremony for joining members of National Honors Society will be held Thur., Sep. 11 at 7:00 PM in the Boyle auditorium.
National Honors Society is a club for students who wish to gain leadership opportunities and help their community through extracurricular work.
“You need to be a leader in your community, you need to have good grades,” NHS president Julia Weiss said. “You show the community who you really are and try to make a change.”
About 40 juniors and seniors each are inducted into the McClintock branch of National Honors Society each year. These students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have leadership experience both in school and around the community.
“The ceremony is for families of the inductees to celebrate the accomplishment of being accepted into NHS,” NHS sponsor Ivan Barkdoll said.
Julia Weiss is the president of National Honors society, Hadi Naseredden is the vice president, Sara Feipel is the secretary, and Ivan Barkdoll is the sponsor.
“There’s such a wide variety of students here, and we like to get the best of the best,” Naseredden said.
