Buff Week begins Sept. 8 and leads up to the rivalry football game on Fri., Sept. 12 between McClintock High and Tempe High. The rival has been going on for 50 years.
“Buff Week is a friendly competition between the two schools,” Student Council Body President Amie Troutt said.
The theme for Buff Week is The Breakfast Club!
Monday: The Athlete (sports wear)
Tuesday: The Brain (glasses, suspenders etc.)
Wednesday: The Basket Case (mismatch or random things)
Thursday: The Rebel (rock n roll or 80’s wear)
Friday: Red and Blue *Juniors and Freshmen are BLUE Sophomores and Seniors are RED*
We asked some members of the Student Council to share their opinion on why they think people should participate in Buff Week.
“It shows school spirit and gets kids involved,” senior Natasha Conway said.
There will be activities at lunch. The activities are:
Monday: Water balloon toss
Tuesday: 3 leg race
Wednesday: Musical Chairs
Thursday: Oreo game
Friday: Buffalo wing eating contest
A lot of effort goes into Buff Week, all the staff and student council members contribute.
“My favorite part of Buff Week are the different costumes people wear, it’s interesting,” senior Francesca Callicotte said.
Remember that the dress code still applies,
“Let’s keep it classy McClintock,” Student Council advisor Kriket Tomasi said.
