Molly Saddler is McClintock’s new Assistant Principal of Activities. This is her first year working at an “A”-rated school, and she has reported very much enjoying her first few weeks at McClintock.
In her new role, Saddler will assist students with finding activities that meet their interests and, “build relationships with staff and students.”
“My inspiration,” she said, “Is my love for kids and to be here for the students.” “There was this one boy in my class, he was always making bad choices and didn’t know what to do with his life. I stood by him and helped him. But then we lost touch. He showed up one day and told me, ‘Because of you I am a freshman in college. You made me the person I am today.’”
In her 10 years of teaching, Saddler recounts as her greatest accomplishment earning her Master’s degree from NAU on the same week her daughter earned her Bachelor’s degree from ASU.
Previously, she worked at a high school in Iowa for 2 years and at Coronado High School in Scottsdale for 8 years.
Saddler went to a Catholic school and she cherishes her experiences; “Going to Catholic school formed and shaped the woman I am today.” She embraces McClintock’s diversity and marvels at the achievements “I have never taught at an ‘A’ school.”
“I wanted the diversity of a public school,” she says. The Charger family certainly is a diverse group of people, and Saddler adds, “I really do feel right at home already.”
One of Saddler’s expectations and major goals for this year is to build relationships with staff and students, and it seems that so far she has been successful. Many students have reported her as being very friendly, and she makes an effort to learn as many student names as possible.
“She’s super nice. She wrote my name down so she would remember it,” says senior Lia Peterson.
