It’s nearing the end of the school year, which means we’re starting to finish our classes for the semester. Students are pushing through these very last assignments, but with no motivation. How does the lack of motivation change the way we perform?
I, a senior in Film and Video Production 2, have not had any motivation to film segments for a while. It’s strange how our mind and body works— One moment, it feels like one could film and edit 3 videos in 1-2 days, and the other feels like it’s not worth the time. Without motivation to work, it’s almost impossible to be up to standards. I’ve been video producing for 8 years, starting my first YouTube channel at the age of 10.
As I got older, I wanted to make video producing a career— which led me to participate in Film classes. The first couple of months were a strong start: I uploaded creative segments, put in more effort, turned in my segments on time, and most importantly, I was having fun.
What happened?
The lack of motivation changes how consistent we could be— holding us back from our true potential. Though, how could this be if we’re doing something we love?
