Hohl makes math a piece of pi

Michael Hohl, a new addition to the McClintock staff, teaches math but also excels in other subjects.
Hohl was born in Reading, Pennsylvania where he lived with his parents and five siblings. He attended Drexel University and has a degree in math and is currently working to get his Masters in education policy, education technology, and math education.
In Hohl’s 20 years in education, he has traveled and taught in many places, including Belize, a country in Central America and Australia. Hohl mentioned Helen Keller for motivating him to travel and making the most of his life, specifically her quote “Life is either an adventure or nothing.”
“Teaching, for me, is a way of helping the world,” Hohl said.
Hohl’s interests includes investing wisely, collecting coins, one notably from the Wreck of the Atocha. He is also cousins with the lead singer of Hall & Oates, Daryl Hall. Adding to his 20 years in education, he also has 10 years of experience in business.
Hohl, for the past year, was substituting within the Tempe district until he accepted the job at McClintock.He wants to build a calculus program, which is one of the reasons why he chose McClintock out of the schools that wanted to hire him.
“Every school, I believe, needs an after school tutoring program,” Hohl said
He also plans to [improve] students’ mathematical abilities and build up McClintock’s tutor program.
