On September 4th, 28 students got the opportunity to attend to a journalism showdown field trip at Compadre Academy. At the field trip were four tracks to choose from: Copy, design, newspaper, and photo. Me, Ramon, and Sebastian decided on Photo.
After given instructions, we were released to our three classes. Our first class was with John Dowd who focused on sports photography. Then we attended to Taryn Kaahanui who explained the settings on a camera. Lastly, we visited Sydney Lovan who taught us how to compose an image.
Finally, the competition began. The four tracks went their separate ways to out best each other. Ramon and I decided to use teamwork to conquer the competition. I took a photo of a single flower on a flower bush, blurring the background a bit to only capture the one flower i was focused on, and Ramon used a photo of me standing at the top of stairs posing.
Despite our efforts, neither of us won, but the Competition was fun overall. We had three students win an award, besting the rest of the students.
