Spanish Club welcomes new members
September 16, 2016
The Spanish Club is an open environment dedicated to learning about new cultures and meeting new people that meets every Friday at lunch in room 1203.
The Spanish Club does many different things at their meetings. Every other Friday is movie day, and during other meetings, there are introductory activities.
“I think that it is important to learn of practices and ideals of different cultures. I feel as though we can further educate people and have fun while doing it,” sophomore and Spanish Club president Teadora Dela Garza-Crouch said.
Any student can join the club, even if they cannot speak Spanish.
“I think it’s important to be open to different cultures and bring students together,” Spanish Club Advisor and Spanish Teacher Carla Whitehead said.
“[During our meetings] we learn about spanish speaking countries through music, food, and videos,” Dela Garza-Crouch said.
The Spanish Club uses many different learning techniques to try and include everyone.
“[Students] should join because it’s a fun group that wants to explore more,” Whitehead said.
