Library and Technology Services computer tech Jamie Wright is moving to a new job. Wright has been serving McClintock for eight and a half years.
“[I’m going to miss] finding and fixing problems and helping teachers and students,” Wright said. “I like making sure everything works.”
Wright will be working at Arizona State University as a System Support Specialist at the downtown campus.
“I will miss the sense of community. I’ve been here a long time so I know everyone and everyone knows me, ” Wright said.
Wright will be missed by his coworkers and students across campus.
“Wright has been instrumental in helping the school publications,” journalism adviser Karen Crane said. “We are constantly having technical issues, and he is quick and efficient. We will really miss him.”
As Wright gets a new start, there are many things he is looking forward to.
“I am excited about being in a new place, with new challenges, and with new things to learn,” Wright said.
Wright has some fond memories of working here at McClintock.
“I’d just started working here and I had been here for two weeks,” he said. “There was a perfect storm of events and we got hit by a virus, like really, bad. We had to recall all the teachers’ laptops and remove the virus. I ended up working through an entire night. Mr. Ward came in the next morning and saw I was in here and basically threw me out the door and told me not to come back until I got my 8 hours of sleep.”
This type of dedication is what so many teachers have come to respect so much.
“Mr. Wright works so hard, and he never makes any of us feel stupid,” Crane said. “Even when we ask questions that we’ve asked a million times before, he answers without criticism. He will truly be missed.”
