The English ACT test is difficult for most students. Here are some tips that will ease the stress on students who find the English ACT difficult.
First tip is to be aware of which writing style is being used for each passage. See if the underlined portion fits with the sentences near the underline portion. This helps by knowing if the sentence makes sense to neighboring sentences. If the word is misplaced in the sentence or used incorrectly, then you know you will need to change it.
Next tip is to examine the underline portion itself from the passage. Consider what elements of writing are being used in each underlined portion. This can let you see if the word or phrase you are fixing needs to be fixed. If you are absolutely certain that the sentence is grammatically correct, then you can choose “NO CHANGE” as the answer.
Another tip is keeping the simplicity of some of the answers. Not all questions are based on simplicity, but if you can make your point clear and straightforward, you will not need to add too much extra detail. If the sentence is simple enough for nothing to be changed, then you can just answer “NO CHANGE.”
