Earlier this year, McClintock was named a National Title I Distinguished School of the Year and hosted an assembly on Tues., Apr. 28th to celebrate the award.
A number of distinguished guests, including Diane Douglas, the Superintendent of the Department of Education, and Michelle Reagan, the Secretary of State, attended the event. Members of the school district also attended.
McClintock was invited to apply for the award out of 52 schools, which were then narrowed down to six and then to two schools who won in the state, and one of the 100 that won in the nation. McClintock was the only high school chosen; it’s rare for a high school to receive the Title I Award at all.
Douglas presented the school with a check for $5000 as reward for our excellence.
