Wrestling senior night was big hit

The McClintock wrestling team continues to improve with each match and focuses on the positive during the season. Although the season is not yet over, team members work hard to improve after each match.

Senior Noah Bello, for example, has had a phenomenal season and still hopes to get better.

“Noah Bello is our only senior because so many people have dropped out but Noah has had a terrific career. He is in the top ten and since the season is not over, I do not know exactly what place he has but it is for most victories in McClintock history,” Coach Robert Groves said.

Bello is an example to his team of confidence on the mat. His hard work and dedication to the team is admirable while others would be unsatisfied.

“He has been a four-year starter and will be sorely missed. His leadership has been excellent for the team, which will be difficult to replace. For senior night, we introduced him to the crowd and talked about how much we will miss him,” Coach Groves said. In addition to Bello, sophomores Marco Groves and Bobby Groves also led the team in the matches against Desert

Vista and Poston Butte. The home match was Fri., Dec. 18 against Desert View, Gilbert and Poston Butte.
“While the overall season as a team has been a little disappointing, we have had great individual success with defending champs Marco Groves and Gator Groves as well as Noah Bello,” Coach Groves said.
