McClintock’s Link Crew hosted a tailgate for freshman on Friday, Aug. 29 from 5:30p.m to 6:30p.m, and was held in front of the main gym; the game started at 7:00 p.m.
The tailgate was the first official Link Crew activity to get everyone together.
“Freshmen needed their I. D. to get in the tailgate and the game for free. They got a raffle ticket and with it came free pizza and water. Later the tickets could be used for a raffle to win prizes,” Link Crew sponsor Monica Griffin said.
Griffin and Link Crew has spent a phenomenal amount of time of putting this tailgate together.
“Anytime students are active and participating in their school it’s going to benefit the school and also the students because studies show that the more active they are and participate the more they will be academically,” Griffin said.
Link Crew is an organization to help freshmen get involved.
“Link Crew taught me how to be a better example for kids,” Link Crew leader Audra Emmerson said.
