Steve Baily is an engineering teacher who has been teaching at McClintock High School for at for 21 years.
Baily started when he was 26 years old when he started his student teaching. He was mentored by Mr. Siagimbol and later met Mr. Hankinson and got to have a tour of the school.
“I was excited but nervous at first,” Baily said.
Throughout his years of teaching he has taught a wide variety of students ranging from freshman to seniors.
“Students over the years have gotten more mature, with some exceptions of course,” Baily said
Freshmen Benjamin Lubovac is a student of Baily’s engineering class.
“Mr.Baily shows a refreshing level of relaxation and calmness in the classroom, he is straightforward and fair,” Lubovac said.
Baily built his home himself and is constantly working on it, and he likes working with his hands.
“My hardest challenge is my third hour this year, I teach half of them and babysit the rest,” Baily said.
Outside of school Baily enjoys football and socializing with friends.
“McClintock is a good family and has a good environment and I get the opportunity to work with tools like the wood shop, it’s a good fit and I like it here,” Baily said.
