Regionals auditions were on Sat. Jan 24, 2015 and 25 students from each musical group made regionals.
In order to make regionals the different branches of music had specific things they needed to do during their audition.
“Choir had to sing a two minute solo, three lines of sight seeing, block and contrapuntal seeing,” choir student Caitlin Andelora said.
Orchestra also had different tasks they had to do to make regionals.
“We played excerpts and played scales, along with sight seeing,” rrchestra student Julia Weiss said.
Band had to do three etudes along with major scales and sight reading.
“It was a very awesome experience because I was a top scorer in the region,” senior Kendric Knorr said.
Making regionals is quite an accomplishment.
“It was really exciting for getting into regionals especially because it was my first time trying out,” Andelora said.
For some students this isn’t their first time making regionals.
“It was exciting to make regionals for my fourth year in a row,” Weiss said.
Many of the people who auditioned improve their scores over the years.
“This is my third time and I have improved 50 points from the first time I made it,” Knorr said.
