The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1
Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has survived the Hunger Games twice, and now has to deal with the aftermath of tearing down the arena in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and being separated from Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson).
In order to promote the fight against the Capitol, Katniss gains the courage to become the Mockingjay, which is the symbol for the rebellion against the Capitol. Unlike the previous two movies, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1 is not as action packed without the bloody fights in the Hunger Games arena.
However, just like the third book, the movie manages to be a “page-turner” that captivates people’s attention with surprising moments that will influence the entire uprising. Critics stated that the film was “loaded with tension, has solid performances, and a smart political subtext”. They also state that it is the first Hunger Games movie “with meat on its bones”.
The movie is rated PG-13, but it can be considered a great movie for the whole family to go see or a great way to spend a Friday night with friends.
